Avionics Technician – High-Priority Defense Program

Dayton, Ohio | $40.00/hr + Per Diem Split (if eligible) | Contract-to-Hire or Long-Term Contract

Take your avionics career to the next level by joining the launch team of a brand-new, multi-billion dollar Department of Defense program . This is a 10-year project modernizing advanced airborne defense platforms, starting with heavily modified Boeing 747s . Be one of the first 5 avionics techs hired and work inside state-of-the-art, climate-controlled hangars in Dayton, Ohio .

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform avionics modifications and installations on commercial aircraft.
  • Terminate, crimp, and connect wires to exacting military and aerospace standards.
  • Conduct operational checks , troubleshooting, and ring-outs of avionics systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics , wiring diagrams, and modification drawings.
  • Support test, inspection, and integration phases in a classified environment.

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft avionics installation, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with tools for wire prep, crimping, routing, and testing.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, pinouts, and modification packages.
  • Must bring your own tools (shadowed and etched preferred).
  • FAA Drug Test compliance required.
  • Eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active clearance a plus).
  • Military or special mission aircraft background is a plus— veterans encouraged to apply .
