Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Hematopathology Morphology)
Job Description
The Hematopathology Morphology group is responsible for performing complete blood counts (CBC) and analyzing cellular morphology in peripheral blood and some body fluids. The laboratory also performs a wide range of cytochemical stains.
Responsibilities
+ Accession pathology cases by reviewing and documenting materials.
+ Correlate paperwork and assess the appropriateness of ordering.
+ Communicate with clients when discrepancies are encountered or additional information is needed.
+ Collaborate with departments such as Cell Kinetics, Molecular, and Cytogenetics.
+ Work closely with pathologists to ensure accurate and efficient processes.
+ Handle computer work including intake of materials like slides and bone marrow, logging into the computer, ensuring identifiers are correct, and checking paperwork.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in laboratory and medical laboratory testing.
+ Proficiency in instrumentation experience and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of chemistry and biology.
+ Background as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist.
+ Experience in specimen processing and chemistry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience, etc. is required.
Work Environment
Work within the Hematopathology Morphology Group on a day shift, Monday through Friday, with rotating start times between 7-9 am for an 8-hour shift. The work culture is collaborative and focused on problem-solving, offering a variety of cases and opportunities to engage in different aspects of the field. The team participates in events such as chili cook-offs, apple pie contests, and hikes. The environment is dynamic, with daily huddles to ensure coordination and communication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
