Custom Apparel is a family owned, fast-paced and friendly screen printing and embroidery shop working primarily within The Villages community to create custom items for a variety of clients, including businesses, schools, clubs, sports teams, as well as individuals. We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, and team-oriented individual for a full-time embroidery position, working to embroider custom orders for our clientele.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Embroiderer, based in The Villages, FL. The Commercial Embroiderer will be responsible for operating embroidery machines, setting up designs, selecting threads, and ensuring high-quality output. Additional tasks include maintaining equipment, managing production schedules, troubleshooting machine issues, and meeting customer specifications to deliver custom apparel on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional, upbeat, positive attitude while contributing to a fun, collaborative workplace.
  • Organize and self-manage daily embroidery jobs to ensure timely order completion.
  • Monitor multiple embroidery machines to maintain top-tier quality and production speed.
  • Identify and correct any errors during production, or promptly notify management when issues arise.
  • Communicate effectively with management and coworkers to support smooth operations.
  • Thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Follow written work orders to complete multiple customer projects per shift.
  • Track and relay supply needs to keep production well-stocked and efficient.
  • Having a strong attention to detail and i nspect each garment to ensure every piece meets our high quality standards.
  • Effectively communicate needs/suggestions to management and co-workers.

Position requirements include:

  • 1 year of commercial embroidery is preferred, but not required as we are willing to train a quality candidate.
  • Computer literacy is required.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills for effectively collaborating with team members and responding to client needs
  • Experience with Purchasing and related processes to manage supplies and ensure seamless production workflows
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines effectively
  • Previous experience as a commercial embroiderer or familiarity with embroidery machines
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to work in a production environment
