Pay Range: $17.50 - $24.00 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Responsible for total operation of the hotline and shelter on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma 2 years’ experience working in the field preferred
• Must have knowledge of the dynamics of Domestic Violence. A 40-hour Domestic Violence training certificate is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and independently.

Preferred:

Must have knowledge of the dynamics of Domestic Violence. A 40-hour Domestic Violence training certificate is Preffered , must be completed with in the first month of hire.

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

• Full-Time
• Evening
• 3PM-11PM or 4PM-12AM

Essential Functions:

• Answer the hotline and provide an appropriate service or referral
• Admit clients to shelter, assign rooms, and provide personal items
• Complete all the admission paperwork
• Assure the security of a facility at all times
• Complete a shift checklist before the end of the shift.
• Record all occurrences, admissions, and hotline calls for next-shift personnel
• Enforce all shelter guidelines and regulations
• Mediate client disputes in a non-threatening manner
• Respond to clients' needs inappropriately
• Provide support counseling as needed
• Accept donations delivered to the facility during off-hours
• Order meals on the appropriate shift
