Here is some additional information on this role. For this role, we are looking for that Director of Sterile Processing that can also manage a team, guide that team, and guide projects in that team. That need to follow through, work on direction of that team, guide that team, and hold people accountable. Oftentimes, that leadership, guidance and that ability to hold people accountable comes through projects that a Director of Sterile Processing leads. So, this client is looking for someone who has led several projects in their background focused on sterile processing. Perhaps, you were in an organization that lost its Joint Commission certification? How did you help that firm become reaccredited? There are - more than likely - quite a few projects you can point to in your background where you led the team to success.

For this role, there are 2 hospitals as well as an offsite facility that you will have management oversight. There is, roughly, 50 staff in this team and 3 direct reports. Those direct reports are a manager of offsite (that offsite facility I mentioned) and a manager of each of the two other hospitals.

Here are some of the key responsibilities for this role:

• Collaborate with your surgical staff and surgical leadership to develop annual strategic and operational plans.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, reviewing staff requirements, assure departmental quality standards, and holding team members accountable.
• Supervise and mentor team members to their success.
• Assure compliance and system standardization with all regulatory and accrediting agencies (Joint Commission, AAMI), safety programs & organizational programs.
• Work collaboratively to provide support as a SME to Infection Prevention and other members of the Quality and Patient Safety team.
• Oversee the interface between sterile processing, surgery, and materials as well as other departments to ensure that supplies and instruments are available to all areas.
• Work with vendors to quote, budget and execute orders in collaboration with the Director of Business Operations for Surgical Services.
• Maintain a monthly staffing schedule and rotate staff assignments to keep proficient in all areas.
• Check future schedules for equipment/instrument needs and obtain them in a timely manner.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels in all areas of the SPD.
• Responsible for management of staff education in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Here are the main things we are seeking:

• Experience leading a team of Sterile Processing technicians. We are seeking management of more than 20.
• We are seeking individuals who are currently (or have held) that Director or Senior Manager role in Sterile Processing at a Hospital or Healthcare institution (this is an absolute must have).
• Experience managing projects, and the teams in those projects, focused on Sterlization processes.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Manager or Director of Sterile Processing (this is a gotta have).
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing or Business-related field OR fifteen (15) years total experience in directly related Sterilization Processing roles in a healthcare setting.
• National Certification in sterile processing (CBSPDT or CRCST) required (this is an absolute must have).
