Job Description

We are collaborating with the CTO of a leading prime brokerage and clearing house to recruit a Head of Quantitative Engineering. This pivotal role involves leading a team of quantitative developers and researchers, driving innovation in model development, production systems, and computational frameworks. The ideal candidate will adopt a hands-on approach and possess the ability to write production-grade code

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of quantitative developers and researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Model Development: Take ownership and be actively involved in the design, development, and implementation of quantitative models, including risk and margin models.
  • System Oversight: Oversee the development and maintenance of high-performance production systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Code and Research Optimization: Review and optimize code, research methodologies, and system architectures to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to prioritize research and development initiatives, aligning them with business goals.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Quantitative Development Expertise: Extensive experience in a quantitative development role, particularly in designing and implementing quantitative models for prime brokerage and clearing.
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python, with the ability to write production-grade code.
  • Team Experience: Proven experience working within high-performing quantitative engineering or development teams.
  • Educational Background: A degree in a technical or quantitative discipline is required, with a preference for candidates holding a graduate degree.
  • Industry Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in quantitative development, risk modeling, or a closely related field.
  • System Design: Hands-on experience in designing and implementing large-scale systems.
