We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team in San Francisco on a hybrid work schedule . The ideal candidate will have strong litigation support skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive attitude. You will be responsible for supporting attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations both remotely and in-office.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, revise, and format legal documents including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and memoranda.
File documents with state and federal courts via e-filing platforms (e.g., CM/ECF, Odyssey).
Maintain case files, calendars, and deadlines; manage docketing of court dates and appointments.
Coordinate meetings, depositions, travel arrangements, and conference calls.
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
Track billable time, prepare expense reports, and assist with monthly billing.
Handle administrative tasks including time entry, scanning, photocopying, and transcriptions.
Collaborate with other legal staff to meet deadlines and manage high-volume case loads.
3+ years of litigation secretarial experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Thorough knowledge of federal and California state court rules and procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal management systems (e.g., iManage, NetDocuments, or similar).
Familiarity with legal calendaring systems (e.g., CompuLaw, CourtAlert) is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Hybrid Schedule: Typically 3 days in-office, 2 days remote (subject to firm policy).
