A Day in the Life of the Implementation Engineer

As an Implementation Engineer, you’ll be at the center of our client’s impact: deploying, configuring, and fine-tuning tech that public agency teams, and the people they serve, use every day. You’ll work directly with government stakeholders to translate eligibility policies into real-world system workflows, while building data connections and integrations that just work.

Responsibilities include:

• Translate agency requirements into technical configurations (forms, data maps, workflows)
• Write and maintain Python scripts and SQL queries to automate and validate data pipelines
• Customize platform behavior using JSON, programmable logic, and parameter tuning
• Collaborate with public agency IT teams on SSO (SAML/OIDC), REST APIs, and infrastructure
• Triage technical issues involving data, authentication, or network layers
• Document requirements, risks, and deployment criteria through regular check-ins
• Build templates, runbooks, and guides to support repeatable deployments
• Share field insights with product and engineering teams to reduce manual effort and improve the platform

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3–6+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing roles (Implementation, Professional Services, Integrations, or Customer Success Engineering)
• Strong hands-on skills in Python (for scripting/automation) and SQL (for validation and transformation)
• Experience with Linux/SSH for inspecting logs and system configurations
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON integrations, and identity protocols like SSO, SAML, or OIDC
• Comfortable translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Organized, detail-oriented, and always iterating on ways to improve the process
