General Counsel - Global Tech Company (Hybrid | Southern California Preferred)

A leading global technology company is seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel to join its executive team. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility across business units and the opportunity to guide legal, compliance, and HR functions across North America and international markets.

Location
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Will consider remote candiates if they can come into the office 2 times per month. Travel reimbursement is available for candidates based in the Bay Area, Orange County, or San Diego willing to travel twice monthly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and stabilize a lean in-house legal department

  • Manage and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (sales, rentals, vendor agreements)

  • Oversee global legal operations, including teams and matters in the U.S., Europe, and APAC

  • Advise on export compliance and international trade issues

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Support corporate governance, employment, intellectual property, and compliance functions

  • Partner with HR and executive team on risk management and operational guidance

What we are looking for:

  • 7-15+ years of legal experience, including prior in-house counsel or General Counsel experience

  • Deep expertise in commercial transactions and international legal operations & global management

  • Proactive and collaborative leader with strong communication and mentoring skills

  • Business-minded legal advisor who can balance risk with company goals

  • Confident, articulate, and team-oriented-comfortable working with senior leadership

Compensation

  • Base salary: $275,000 - $315,000

  • Annual bonus potential up to 15%, based on performance and revenue metrics

  • Executive-level benefits, including healthcare reimbursement and on-site gym access
