Job Description

Master Scheduler

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually

Position Summary

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining tactical production plans that align manufacturing output with customer demand, while meeting corporate goals for profitability, productivity, and lead time performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and internal efficiency goals
  • Establish and maintain accurate item-level parameters in the MRP system to drive demand for manufacturing and procurement
  • Release and adjust work orders as needed to reflect changes in production priorities or material availability
  • Establish production rates that optimize inventory levels, minimize backlog, and ensure on-time delivery

Forecasting & Planning

  • Create and update demand forecasts based on sales history, seasonality, and business opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to improve forecast accuracy and align production with market trends
  • Support new product introductions, end-of-life planning, and prototype development with accurate scheduling
  • Analyze material supply and demand, proactively recommend push/pull actions, and address MRP exceptions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Contract Manufacturers to resolve material shortages, stock outages, and supply chain issues
  • Evaluate supplier quotes to support decision-making on price, quality, and lead time
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve planning discrepancies and implement improvements

Operational Excellence

  • Track and report key performance metrics tied to productivity, quality, and cost
  • Support S&OP processes and alignment across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental health policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Master Scheduling, Production/Capacity Planning, MRP, and Forecasting
  • Background in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiarity with planning methodologies such as CRP, S&OP, Lean, and TOC
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) highly desirable
