AccessAbility, Inc. is a small non-profit located in Northeast Minneapolis serving individuals with disabilities, and we are looking for someone with a caring spirit who is reliable, willing and able to join our team. We are seeking confident and experienced drivers to drive large vans or small mobility busses on morning and afternoon routes; additional driving to outings and activities may also be available to those seeking more hours. Some routes involve assisting wheelchair users and others with limited mobility getting in and out of the van. DOT certification helpful; can provide upon employment. Current priority is on afternoon drivers to work hours between 1:15-4:00; morning shifts also available for those interested in split shift driving. Routes begin and end at our day services facility in Northeast Minneapolis, and most routes are 1.5 - 2 hours in duration per shift.
Pay: $17.75 - $20.85 per hour
Job description:
Primarily seeking experienced large van or mobility bus drivers for AFTERNOON shifts, Monday-Friday.
Split shifts may also be available for those interested in driving both morning and afternoon routes, or driving for mid-day outings and activities.
No Weekends!

The right candidates:
In this position you will start your shift at our agency location in Northeast Minneapolis, prepare and use a company van or small bus and drive to residential locations to pick up people for our Day and Employment services programs. (DOT certification preferred but not required) You would have a few hours in between of your own time and then return to transport people to their residences at the end of the day (depart approximately 1:30 pm).
The person hired needs to have high safety awareness, patience and a love for people in order to transport persons served. Drivers will be entrusted to provide high standards of customer service and professionalism and comply with all state and federal rules and regulations.
In this position you can expect to do these daily tasks:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older and have a HS diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license, valid insurance and a good driving record showing no incidences, accidents, DWI/DUI within the past three years. DOT certified preferred or have the ability to pass certification required to transport individuals in a small bus. Prefer former experience in driving.
Must be able to lift, push-pull, twist, squat, bend, and perform all duties without restrictions that are required for safe transport of individuals in wheel chairs.
Meet the criteria as required by licensing for DHS background study.
Ability to pass and maintain required training for DHS compliance such as CPR/First aid.
Be effective in oral and written communications within all levels of the organization and ensure confidentiality is maintained.
Comply with the safety and health program demonstrating preventative actions promoting a safe and healthy work place.
Comply with AAI attendance policy.
