Job Summary: Payroll Associate-PT (20-24 Hours Per Week)

Hendrickson’s is seeking a Part Time Payroll Coordinator to join our growing company!

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the processing and auditing of time and attendance and payroll data. This position requires a strong understanding of New York state Wage and Hour laws and regulations, and a good familiarity of Payroll concepts, practices and procedures, including complete confidentiality in all matters; and excellent interpersonal skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly payroll.
  • Records, verifies and reconciles timecards and other payroll data; coordinates activities with department managers and responds to departmental inquiries.
  • Ensures that payroll information is accurately entered into PAYCOM and evaluates data entries for accuracy, completeness and conformity with established policies and procedures.
  • Investigates departmental inquiries involving overtime and processes vacation requests.
  • Responds to departmental inquiries and issues related to payroll information. Works to resolve issues and problems in an expeditious and satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure all employee changes for assigned employee groups are accurate.
  • Responsible for balancing payroll and troubleshooting payroll issues.
  • Create and prepare reports from PAYCOM.
  • Monitors the time and attendance system. Looks for missed punches and communicates discrepancies or issues to managers and employees as appropriate. Ensure absences are properly paid.
  • Regularly audit attendance and paid time off records.
  • Assists HR with various duties including, but not limited to on-boarding, benefits, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Prior Payroll experience, and proven knowledge of payroll laws and compliances required
  • Demonstrated strong aptitude and ability to perform clear and accurate numerical data entry and documentation.
  • Proven attention to detail is required.
  • Strong payroll program and system knowledge, manipulation and utilization is required.
  • Prior experience with PAYCOM, is preferred but will train.
  • Ability to remain confidential in all employee and company related matters, at all times, is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with professional daily interaction with internal and/or external customers (as trained).
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently and ethically with confidential related matters.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and perform basic research, if required.
  • Strong follow through and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • At least 3 Years of Payroll Experience necessary
