Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Coral Gables, FL, for a Pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs pharmacy related task in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and standard pharmacy practices.
- Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians, or other authorized prescriber, to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Directs registered pharmacy technicians engaged in counting, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Fills prescriptions and checks all filled orders for accuracy before they reach the customers.
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, disposal of client’s related information, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Maintains pharmacy records according to established rules and regulations and standard pharmacy practices.
- Provides information to medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy as needed.
- Oversees inventory activities, and pharmacy supplies for restocking.
- Follows established procedures to ensure client confidentiality relating to medications and treatment, as applicable
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :
Pharm D. degree in pharmacy. CPh is highly preferred. Requires a current/valid State of Florida Pharmacist license. A minimum of 3 years related Pharmacy experience within a Healthcare setting. Knowledge of DCF, Medicare, Medicaid, 340b, private insurance and self-pay billing procedures is a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish (or other languages) helpful. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memorandums. Agility to effectively communicate information both orally and written on one-to-one and small group situations to clients and other employees.
Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, fully onsite.
