We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our growing team at NatureBest Pre-Cut & Produce, Llc. The Procurement Manager will be a member of the Supply Chain Department, responsible for executing the strategy and implementing divisional supply chain initiatives. Reporting to the Procurement Director, this role will focus on managing the purchase order life cycle, contract management, and executing divisional supply chain strategies. The role is also responsible for supporting the day-to-day logistical and warehouse supply and delivery challenges for the organization and ensuring key suppliers are performing as per commercial terms.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for fresh produce, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, service, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure timely and efficient procurement processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and service standards.
  • Implement and maintain sourcing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, innovations, and best practices in sourcing and procurement.
  • Manage the purchase order lifecycle, including expediting, invoice reconciliation, and closeout
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date supply
  • Conduct internal and external spending and market analyses for the organization, identify opportunities, and execute divisional strategies
  • Build partnerships across all lines of business to achieve the best possible results
  • Support daily logistical and warehouse supply and delivery challenges across the organization.
  • Ensure key suppliers are performing as per commercial terms
  • Source extra products based upon new sales opportunities
  • Ensure 3rd party transportation is supported and aligned to divisional strategies
  • Support and educate suppliers and staff on procurement policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to lower temperatures (between 34Fº to 38Fº),
  • Moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
  • This position is in the production area. The production area is a cold, damp environment.

Physical Demands:

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 40 pounds.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • • 3+ years of supply chain experience; with specific experience in purchasing and inventory management
  • • Logistics knowledge with specific experience in rail and bulk truck transport desirable
  • • Industry experience is an asset, but not mandatory
