Job Description

Project Executive

Sector: Commercial Construction

Location: Dallas, TX

Compensation: Up to $250,000 base + bonus (DOE)

A nationally established, market-leading commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Executive to lead and grow its Dallas business unit. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for operations, financial performance, client relationships, and team development across a growing regional portfolio.

This opportunity is ideal for a construction leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and wants true market ownership, backed by a well-capitalized national platform.

The Role

As Project Executive, you will have full oversight of the Dallas operation, acting as the senior leader for the region. You will be accountable for profitability, strategic growth, and the successful delivery of complex commercial construction projects, while building and mentoring a high-performing local team.

You will partner closely with executive leadership while maintaining the autonomy to shape regional strategy, pursue work, and expand market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Dallas business unit with full P&L responsibility
  • Set and execute regional strategy aligned with company growth objectives
  • Oversee delivery of multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through close-out
  • Drive business development through client relationship management, pursuit strategy, interviews, and negotiated work
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for key clients, owners, and development partners
  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, and preconstruction staff
  • Establish a performance-driven culture focused on safety, quality, schedule, and financial outcomes
  • Partner with preconstruction teams on budgeting, risk management, and project strategy
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety programs, and operational best practices
  • Represent the company within the Dallas commercial construction market

Experience Required

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, including senior-level oversight of complex, ground-up projects
  • Proven experience in a business-unit or regional leadership role (Project Executive, Project Director, Operations Director, or equivalent), with direct accountability for profit & loss, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple project teams and portfolios simultaneously
  • Strong background working for a commercial general contractor, delivering projects through full lifecycle execution (highly preferred)
  • Experience supporting or leading business development efforts, including client relationship management, pursuit strategy, and interview participation
  • Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams, including Project Managers and Superintendents
  • Deep understanding of construction risk management, contract strategy, and operational controls within the Texas market

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary up to $250,000 plus performance-based bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Full executive benefits package

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a growing regional operation, with real authority to shape strategy, performance, and culture. You’ll be supported by a well-established national contractor while having the autonomy to build a strong local team and expand key client relationships. A highly competitive executive compensation package and a clear long-term growth opportunity are available for the right leader.
