Job Description

Cultivating Literacy is seeking dedicated volunteers to help implement reading assessments for TK-3rd-grade students in San Jose, CA. You'll work with a Cultivating Literacy Program Manager to meet with students and learn more about their journey as a reader.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Complete an online training program.
• Undergo a background check.
• Meet with a Cultivating Literacy staff member who will serve as your site supervisor.
• Complete reading assessments with students on-site to conduct reading assessments.
• Typical volunteer hours are from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
• Flexible commitment: Volunteer 2-5 times a month based on your availability.

Volunteers at Cultivating Literacy undergo background checks and receive training on child safeguarding practices to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. This volunteer role is great for a former classroom teacher or someone interested in education!
