Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. This role provides nutrition assessments and medical nutrition therapy to hospital patients, nursing home residents, outpatients, and dialysis patients. The Registered Dietitian will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, deliver nutrition education and counseling, and support specialized programs including Cardiac Rehab, Dialysis, and Diabetes Care.
This is a full-time, weekday role with no weekends or holidays, offering a stable schedule and the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nutrition assessments and medical nutrition therapy to hospital patients and nursing home residents.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams; meet with patients and families to provide nutrition counseling and education.
Actively participate in the Nutrition Risk Program, Diabetes Committee, and Care-Planning Committee.
Deliver nutrition assessments and education to outpatient clientele.
Teach heart-healthy nutrition classes in Cardiac Rehab; meet with patients to establish and monitor nutrition goals.
Conduct nutrition counseling for dialysis patients (~35 patients, 2–3x/month), reviewing labs, binder adherence, and fluid management.
Track ultrafiltration rates, recommend treatment duration adjustments, and communicate monthly with nephrology IDT teams.
Report on nutrition-related regulatory measures (albumin, phosphorus, fluid) in monthly quality meetings.
Precept dietetic interns and support professional development.
Maintain requirements for dietetic registration and licensure.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics.
Completion of ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.
Completion of CDR national exam.
Licensure & Certification:
Registered Dietitian (CDR).
Wisconsin Certified Dietitian License (must maintain).
Valid, current driver’s license.
Experience:
1 year or less of related work experience required.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to assess lab values and apply clinical judgment.
Intermediate computer proficiency (Office applications, EMRs).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team.
