Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented scientist to join our cutting-edge research team. This lab-based position plays a vital role in advancing our preclinical drug discovery programs, with a focus on the synthesis and optimization of lead peptide-like polymers (PLPs) across multiple therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate will bring strong synthetic chemistry expertise and a passion for hands-on lab work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize and purify small molecules and PLPs using standard and optimized reaction conditions.
• Characterize compounds using a range of analytical techniques, including HPLC, LCMS, SEC-MALS, NMR, and others as needed.
• Clearly and effectively communicate experimental results to the supervisor and broader chemistry team.
• Support daily lab operations, including inventory management, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

Required:

• M.S. in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with 0–3 years of post-degree laboratory experience.
• Strong foundation in synthetic organic chemistry; additional exposure to medicinal, peptide, or polymer chemistry is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with compound synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization (HPLC, LCMS, SEC-MALS, NMR).
• High comfort level in a lab-based, hands-on research setting.
• Fast learner with the flexibility to contribute to projects beyond core chemistry responsibilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate lab records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred:

• Experience with living polymerization techniques such as ROMP (Ring-Opening Metathesis Polymerization) or RAFT (Reversible Addition-Fragmentation Chain Transfer).
• Previous experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic drug discovery setting.
