About the Role

We are looking for an advanced Senior ML Engineer with strong NLP experience to support a Department of Defense (DoD) Search Portfolio. This role focuses on building scalable AI/ML systems for large-scale, mission-critical data platforms.

You will work alongside data scientists, engineers, and mission stakeholders to develop secure, high-performance AI solutions supporting national defense initiatives.

• Design, develop, and support AI/ML pipelines on Databricks using Python
• Build and operationalize NLP models (topic extraction, keyword extraction, context extraction – e.g., RAKE, TF-IDF, embeddings, etc.)
• Develop and deploy LLM and RAG-based generative AI solutions
• Use frameworks like Spark NLP, Hugging Face, and TensorFlow for scalable ML models
• Train and deploy GPU-optimized models across Spark, Databricks, and Kubernetes
• Implement MLOps best practices using MLflow for model tracking and lifecycle management
• Integrate AI capabilities with Elasticsearch & Neo4j for enhanced semantic search and graph analytics
• Support model deployment, monitoring, performance tuning & continuous updates
• Develop reusable ML tools, pipelines, and libraries
• Contribute to AI architecture and technical roadmaps
• Ensure compliance with DoD security and federal standards
  

✅ Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of relevant experience

✅ 5+ years in NLP, LLMs, Semantic Search, RAG & Generative AI

✅ 4+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks (ML Engineering)

✅ Strong Python expertise including Flask and reusable ML tools

✅ Experience with MLflow & MLOps for model governance and automation

✅ Experience developing and fine-tuning GPU-based models

✅ Knowledge of Apache Spark / Databricks distributed workloads

✅ Working familiarity with Elasticsearch and Neo4j (preferred)

✅ Experience working with very large-scale data (petabyte level)

✨ Work on high-impact DoD programs

✨ Exposure to cutting-edge AI/ML systems

✨ Hands-on role in building large-scale AI infrastructure

✨ Ability to influence architecture and technical direction
