HukariAscendent is a Women-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.

Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance/Control Engineer

Duration: 12 months with possible extensions

Location: On-site position requiring up to 80% travel to supplier facilities

Short Summary about Job: Define scope of technical and quality engineering programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges involving unique or controversial problems. Apply advanced technical and quality engineering practices to resolve complex problems and provide leadership in quality assurance specialization. Position involves supplier surveillance oversight activities, QA program development, and supporting facility operations through quality expertise.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience (must meet at least one):

• Ph.D. degree in Engineering/Science with 5 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering experience in Operations, Maintenance, Construction, or Industrial Manufacturing
• MS degree in Engineering/Science with 8 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering experience in Operations, Maintenance, Construction or Industrial Manufacturing
• BS degree in Engineering/Science with 10 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering experience in Operations, Maintenance, Construction or Industrial Manufacturing
• Non-Technical degree with 13 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering experience in Operations, Maintenance, Construction or Industrial Manufacturing
• At least 16 years of multi-disciplined professional Quality Assurance or engineering related experience with increasing levels of responsibility in operations, maintenance, construction, or manufacturing environment, with 10 years in a senior position

Experience/Skills:

• Practical experience in quality control, work control, materials management, civil/structural, mechanical, maintenance, construction, or related areas
• Ability to perform weekly field walk-downs of job sites, including construction sites with uneven surfaces, walking distances over half mile, and climbing ladders to access remote areas
• Previous Mechanical and Welding Inspection and/or Fabrication experience
• Working knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) Codes
• Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.3 welding code
• Area Security Access: Clearance not required (Uncleared)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous DOE clearance preferred
• Current or prior certification as a lead auditor preferred
• Surveillance experience
• Working knowledge of ASNT NDE Methods
• Working knowledge of pressure testing
