About the Role

The ideal candidate will provide and maintain excellent customer service and be the frontline service contact for our external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the elevator service department including preventative maintenance, callbacks, and minor repairs
  • Ensure all service work is performed in compliance with A17.1 code, safety standards, and company policies
  • Monitor daily work orders, technician productivity, and ticket closure rates
  • Supervise and support elevator mechanics and helpers, including coaching, training, and performance reviews
  • Conduct ride-alongs, jobsite visits, and quality control audits
  • Ensure all technicians have required tools, PPE, certifications, and training
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, building owners, and consultants
  • Proactively address customer issues and ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Coordinate walkthroughs, maintenance audits, and contract renewals
  • Support preparation and delivery of repair quotes based on field technician findings
  • Ensure all service routes are properly staffed and balanced for workload and geography
  • Track maintenance contracts, expiration dates, and service obligations
  • Assist with job scheduling for repairs, inspections, and code compliance issues
  • Work with sales and operations teams to onboard new maintenance contracts
  • Track service revenue and repair sales performance by branch or region
  • Support collections efforts by providing documentation or status updates as needed
  • Manage department budget, overtime approvals, and productivity KPIs
  • Ensure all technicians follow safety regulations and company procedures
  • Maintain documentation for accident reports, toolbox talks, and OSHA logs
  • Coordinate safety training, drug testing, and certifications with HR or Safety Officer
  • Ensure compliance with state elevator licenses and permit inspections
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding new service technicians and dispatchers
  • Collaborate with modernization and construction managers to support inter-departmental needs

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Elevator maintenance or repair a plus!
