Job Description

Position Overview:

The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat residents/patients with speech, language, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities. The SLP will provide therapeutic services under a physician’s treatment plan in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Position Type: Staff Augmentation

Hours per Week: 40 (Full-time)

Shift: Day

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (No weekends, no overtime)

Projected Start Date: November 10, 2025

Projected End Date: June 30, 2026

Tenure/Duration: ~8 months

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Must be local to Flagstaff, AZ at the time of submission.
  • Must be available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting close date (11/3/2025, 3:00 PM) .
  • Must be able to start within 2 weeks of offer .
  • Security Requirement: Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Travel Required: No

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology (required)
  • License: Active Speech Language Pathologist License in the State of Arizona (required)
  • Experience: Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of effective speech therapy and rehabilitative techniques
  • Understanding of geriatric patient needs
  • Ability to develop and execute treatment plans
  • Strong documentation, assessment, and communication skills
  • Compassionate and team-oriented approach

Essential Job Functions:

  • Screen, evaluate, and develop care plans for residents/patients
  • Provide therapy per physician-approved treatment plans
  • Conduct rehabilitative programs for communication and swallowing disorders
  • Administer, score, and interpret hearing/speech tests
  • Educate residents/patients, caregivers, and families
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation per HIPAA and facility policy
  • Collaborate with rehab and nursing staff in a skilled nursing setting
  • Devise specialized tools and methods to support patient progress

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop short- and long-term therapy goals
  • Maintain clinical records, daily notes, and weekly summaries
  • Communicate therapy progress to families and guardians
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
