Job Title: Structural Welder – Local Shipyard
Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi
Pay Rate: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
$1,000 sign-on bonus offered*
40 hours of accrued PTO*
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced 1st Class Structural Welders to join our team at a local shipyard. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of 1st Class shipyard welding experience, with proven skills in ceramic tape welding and gouging techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality structural welding on ship components in accordance with blueprints and project specifications.
Utilize ceramic tape welding methods to achieve precision and durability in welds.
Execute gouging operations safely and effectively to prepare or repair metal surfaces.
Inspect and maintain welding equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.
Follow all shipyard safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of 1st Class structural welding experience in a shipyard environment.
Proficient in ceramic tape welding and gouging techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Must pass a weld test prior to employment.
Ability to work in varying positions (standing, crouching, overhead) and lift up to 50 lbs.
