Job Description

A fast-growing food production and distribution company is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Director to lead end-to-end supply chain operations across cold storage, transportation, warehousing, production planning, inventory management, purchasing, and customer service.

This role is ideal for an operational leader with deep expertise in cold chain logistics, transportation/fleet management, and high-volume perishable distribution. Experience in food processing, agriculture, or farm-to-production supply models is a strong advantage.

You will direct multi-site operations, oversee drivers and 3PL partners, manage multi-temperature product flow, ensure DOT compliance, build supplier relationships, and support aggressive growth and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and develop a multi-level team across supply chain, warehousing, transportation, and planning

· Oversee cold storage operations, perishable inventory, and multi-site material flow

· Manage transportation functions including routing, scheduling, drivers, and 3PL providers

· Ensure full DOT compliance and maintain accurate fleet and driver qualification records

· Direct production planning to meet customer demand while optimizing throughput and cost

· Oversee supplier performance, negotiations, and strategic sourcing

· Implement process improvements, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives

· Manage budgets, analyze spending, and ensure operational efficiency

· Drive long-term strategies for asset acquisition, capacity planning, and distribution expansion

· Monitor safety, GMP compliance, and regulatory requirements

· Build and sustain a strong, high-performing operations team through coaching and development

Qualifications

· 10+ years of supply chain, logistics, or distribution leadership within cold storage, food, or high-volume perishable operations

· Strong transportation background including fleet management, routing, driver oversight, and 3PL leadership

· Experience with Series A/B/C trucking operations strongly preferred

· Background in agriculture, farming, or protein/produce processing is a plus

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred

· Proven success developing teams, improving processes, and managing multi-site operations

· Strong financial acumen and experience with budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
