Traffic Engineer (Land Development) – Project Manager

We are looking to hire an energetic Traffic Project Manager with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join our growing Land Development Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the preparation of traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and specifications, planning, and local and state permitting for a variety of Land Development projects.

The Traffic Project Manager will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic project delivery environment and will see projects from initial concept through completion. This role has a potential for significant professional growth and advancement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of various analyses and design tasks in support of our multi-region Land Development Group, including:
  • Traffic Impact Studies (TIS)
  • Access and Circulation Design
  • Roadway and Intersection Improvements
  • Traffic Control Devices
  • Multimodal Considerations
  • Permitting and Coordination
  • Construction Support
  • Build and maintain strong client and state agency relationships through clear communication and proactive management
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring technical excellence and efficient use of resources
  • Drive proposal and contract development, QA/QC processes, and internal performance goals
  • Grow and mentor junior staff, helping expand our multi-region traffic capabilities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant traffic/transportation experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state with the ability to obtain other state licenses within a year.
  • PTOE preferred but not required
  • Proven project management skills
  • Experience with DOT projects and local municipal clients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard industry tools
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (FE/EIT or PE preferred)
