Chief Cardiac Technologist - Electrophysiology

Supervise and manage activities and training Cardiovascular technologists with responsibility for all technical work and performance as related to clinical, educational, and research activities within the department. Provide leadership in the performance of diagnostic testing and interventions in Electrophysiology and is proficient in the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of arrhythmia service patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Cardiovascular Physicians in performing and completing invasive, interventional and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures in the EP Lab using a variety of complicated/advanced equipment, monitors, devices, and supplies.
• Advise and direct Cardiovascular Technologists in new and difficult treatment procedures.
• Organize and develop monthly in-service programs for continuing education for the technical staff.
• Assure the quality/accuracy of documentation in patients medical records.
• Coordinate schedule for the Electrophysiology lab.
• Hire, train, coach, and manage Cardiovascular Technologists.
• Participate in inventory management and ordering/acquisition of products and supplies.
• Perform quality controls on various point of care equipment. Use appropriate techniques for calibration following all policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
• Knowledge and ability to perform 3D mapping (electro-anatomical mapping) during complex procedures.
• Knowledge of the principals of EKG interpretation.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control, and the ability to follow these procedures when setting up sterile tables.
• Bachelor's degree.

Location: 111 E. 210th Street, Bronx, New York

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM-5 PM

Salary: $93,750 to $125,000.00
