Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Executive Director to lead a member-driven telecommunications association. The Executive Director will oversee operations, support members, staff, and the board of directors, as well as represent the association before state and federal legislatures, regulators, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as chief administrative officer, implementing policies and directives of the Board.
  • Manage staff, contractors, and consultants; oversee budget and compliance with regulations.
  • Recruit, retain, and support membership; address member needs and concerns.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory activity; keep members informed of issues impacting the industry.
  • Serves as an Association representative before regulatory agencies, legislative bodies and industry associations.
  • Plan and manage association meetings, conferences, and programs, including budgets, sponsorships, and promotions.
  • Support Board committees and assist with reports, bylaws, policies, and strategic planning.
  • Work with board to hire/terminate staff and direct actions of contractors, attorneys, consultants, and accountants
  • Provide financial reports and assist with budget oversight.
  • Establish and implement operating procedures, policies and guidelines.
 
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in director level role.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry highly preferred.
  • Trade association experience nice to have.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory environments.
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong financial oversight and budgeting experience.
  • Experience in policy development and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, make sound decisions, and foster collaboration.
  • Strong conflict management and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
