Job Description

Position: Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid - Remote Fridays)

Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 + Overtime

Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Overview:
A prestigious Midtown law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and paralegal support to a team of attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on complex litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys.

  • Prepare and file legal documents in state and federal courts.

  • Draft and format pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence.

  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.

  • Coordinate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel as needed.

  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar databases.

  • Maintain case files and organize documents electronically and in hard copy.

  • Track attorney time, prepare expense reports, and assist with billing.

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Best Authority or similar citation tools.

  • Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience with document management systems (e.g., NetDocs) and timekeeping software (e.g., SurePoint) preferred.
