Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is a hands-on, non-supervisory role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position supports production by ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and cGMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment in optimal operating condition
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment
  • Assist production operators with machinery setup and operational support
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components including motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, VFDs, and drives
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues across manufacturing equipment
  • Make minor equipment adjustments to improve product quality, appearance, or operational efficiency
  • Fabricate, modify, and install machinery improvements to address performance or operational deficiencies
  • Install electrical wiring, conduit, and disconnects for machinery and equipment
  • Set up new equipment and train operators on proper operation
  • Purchase repair or replacement materials as directed and within approved spending guidelines
  • Follow all safety policies, company procedures, quality systems, and cGMP requirements

Tools & Equipment Used

  • Test equipment and multi-meters
  • Welders, grinders, saws, drills
  • General manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical equipment

Qualifications

  • Non-supervisory role
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • No certifications or licenses required
  • Moderate math and reading skills
  • Basic computer, language, and writing skills
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and procedures
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Reliable attendance with minimal unplanned absences
