Job Description

Our firm is working with a growing Manufacturing plant in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY. They are looking for Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced mechanical components and brazed assemblies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design efforts for machined parts and brazed assemblies using CAD tools.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to develop efficient designs compliant with standards.
• Define and develop joint designs for high-temperature brazing
• Generate and maintain complete engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
• Conduct FEA and tolerance analysis
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Proven expertise in designing components involving precision machining, tight tolerances, and high-temperature brazed joints.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding).
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and FEA software.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR
• Experience with vacuum or dip brazing process design.
• Exposure to heat transfer and thermal stress analysis for high-temperature applications.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing process validation and first article inspection (FAI).

This role is onsite 5 days
