Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 to oversee the Northwest Region (NWR) Laboratory as the NWR Lab Supervisor and Regional Radiation Safety Officer. The purpose of this role is to manage the materials laboratory which runs tests that confirm the materials used during construction conform to the required specifications. This ensures newly constructed projects are safe and reliable. This position supports the agency’s mission, strategic plan goal areas and safety of the traveling public by supervising and managing the NWR materials test laboratory. This role oversees the NWR laboratory, which conducts critical testing in support of all construction projects in the region, as well as managing nuclear density gauges. In coordination with the NWR Materials Engineer, this position is responsible for overseeing the NWR pits and quarries that WSDOT owns.
