Responsibilities
The PMHNP evaluates, diagnoses and treats individuals with mental health conditions. This provider performs psychiatric assessments, prescribes and manages medications, provides psychotherapy or supportive counseling, monitors treatment progress, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. The goal of this professional is to help patients achieve stability and improve overall mental well-being while managing ongoing psychiatric needs in an outpatient setting.
Qualifications
Masters of Science in Nursing
Valid PA licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric / Mental Health
Experience working with electronic medical records required
2 years of experience in outpatient setting preferred
