Schedule: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours - May require D/N rotation.

Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Overview:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. This role involves managing an assigned patient workload with RN support, delivering safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and report changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice.
• Assist with patient mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Document patient care accurately using the electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Active New York LVN/LPN license in hand at time of submission.
• Minimum one (1) year of recent hospital experience.
• Acute care hospital experience within the last two (2) years.
• Ability to take own patient assignment with RN support.
• EPIC charting experience (required).
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Willingness to work day/night rotation as scheduled.
• Candidates must meet background and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Medical Surgical or Telemetry experience.
• Travel nursing experience (preferred but not required).
• Teaching or tertiary care hospital experience.

Work Environment:

• Tertiary care hospital setting.
• Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit.
• Candidates should be flexible and comfortable floating to other units as needed.

• Orientation provided prior to start.
• Module completion required prior to start (limited billable hours).
• COVID-19 vaccination not required per facility guidelines; flu vaccination status may vary.
